Quartz, granite, and solid-surface tops, templated and installed with the sink.
Countertops are a measuring job. A digital template taken after the cabinets are set and leveled is what makes the seams tight and the backsplash sit flat against a wall that is rarely straight. In older St. Louis kitchens the wall behind the counter can be out an inch over eight feet, and the template has to account for it.
One contract covers the template, the fabrication, the install, and the plumbing reconnect, so you are not chasing three companies over one counter. We set the sink and faucet and put the plumbing back on the same visit wherever the shut-offs allow.
Material usually comes down to quartz or granite. They cost about the same and they behave differently.

Quote
We measure the kitchen, walk you through slabs and edge profiles, and quote the material, fabrication, and install as one number.
Prep
Once the cabinets are set and level we template the tops digitally, and you approve the seam and sink layout.
Work
The slab is fabricated, then we pull the old tops, set the new ones, and cut and polish any field joint.
Finish
Sink and faucet get mounted, the plumbing goes back together, the backsplash goes on, and we run the water before we leave.

Quartz or granite?
Quartz is engineered, non-porous, consistent slab to slab, and never needs sealing, which is why most kitchens go that way now. Granite is natural stone, takes heat better, and no two slabs match, which some people want and some do not. The pricing overlaps heavily, so choose on how you cook and what you want to look at.
How long from template to install?
Typically seven to fourteen days for quartz and common granite, longer for specialty slabs or when the fabricator is backed up. The template cannot happen until the cabinets are set and level. We plan the kitchen schedule around that gap so you know when the sink comes back.
Can you reuse my sink?
If it is in good shape and the new cutout matches, yes, and it saves a few hundred dollars. Undermount sinks glued to the old top do not always survive removal, so we look at it before you count on it. Going from a drop-in to an undermount means a different cutout and usually a new faucet hole layout.
Do you do the plumbing hookup?
Yes. In most cases we disconnect and reconnect the sink, faucet, disposal, and dishwasher line as part of the install. If the shut-offs are corroded or the drain is old galvanized pipe, that is a plumbing repair and we show you before we touch it. We would rather replace a twenty dollar valve than flood your cabinet.
What about seams?
Any run longer than about ten feet, or one that turns a corner, will have a seam, and where it lands is a decision rather than an accident. We put seams where they read least, usually at a sink or a change in direction, and we show you the layout before fabrication. A good seam is tight and color-matched, and it is still visible if you go looking for it.
